Metrology company GOM has developed a compact version of its optical 3D measuring systems.

According to the company, ATOS Q can be used to measure small injection-molded parts, molds and tools as well as complex additive manufactured components by digitizing the entire surface of small to medium-sized measuring objects in 3D.

The ATOS Q is reportedly equipped with interchangeable lenses suitable for small to medium-sized parts and comes with the company’s software and technology features such as the Triple Scan Principle, the Blue Light Equalizer and precise calibration as a self-monitoring system with active temperature management. GOM says that the fringe projection required for precise measurements is performed at high speed and the integrated fiber optic cables enable more rapid data transmission and high data throughput. The scanner is 340 mm x 240 mm x 83 mm and weighs less than 4 kg, making it mobile and flexible in use.
