The National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM) plans to run a week-long, additive manufacturing (AM) field-study trip for students from the National Defense University’s Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy on April 2 – 6, 2018.
The group will visit NCDMM’s AM facility, America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, and several local America Makes members to find out how AM is impacting the manufacturing industry.
‘America Makes is committed to being a catalyst for additive manufacturing innovation and adoption within a highly collaborative infrastructure that promotes the open exchange of information and research,’ said Rob Gorham, America Makes executive director. ‘During their visit to America Makes and our members, the goal is to have mutually beneficial and productive discussions that expand everyone’s understanding of how advanced manufacturing technologies, specifically additive, impact and relate to today’s strategic resource management and national security policy needs.’
