America Makes joins forces with Texas university

3D printing organization America Makes has formed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) to use the university’s additive manufacturing (AM) lab.

The Keck Center has been an America Makes Satellite Center since 2015. Founded in 2001, the 13,000 ft2 facility houses more than 50 additive manufacturing machines.

‘The goal of the new MOU is to expand our current Satellite Center relationship by incorporating services that will provide tremendous strategic value to the America Makes membership community,’ said Rob Gorham, America Makes executive director. ‘Over time, an exponential amount of performance and characterization data will be generated, making America Makes a significant source of additie manufacturing performance data.’
