Software uses 3D printing file format

French/German software company CoreTechnologie says that it is now using the 3D Manufacturing Format (3MF) file format in its additive manufacturing (AM) software.

According to the company, using 3MF in its 4D_Additive software makes it possible to send 3D models and production data independently as well as cross-platform to different software, hardware and service providers.

“The industry is ready to embrace this technology, which brings precision and traceability of the established CAD standard as well as manufacturing information such as 3D dimensions and tolerances to the AM process,” said CEO Armin Brüning.
