Kyocera has added a new cutter series to its wide milling products range.

According to the company its 90° cutter MEV offers a high rigidity due to a higher web thickness than conventional cutters. It also has a lower cutting force due to its axial rake angle of maximum 17°. It also has increased hardness and a wider contact surface. Kyocera said.

The company has also developed its PR15-Serie which uses Megacoat Nano coating technology with improved wear and adhesion resistance, and MFLN cutter with a wide contact face which makes it suitable for large depths of cut and high feed rates. The tangentially mounted inserts have a length of 22 mm and two cutting edges on both sides to help improve rigidity and stableness.
