Parts manufacturer Fusor Tech has acquired a metal 3D printer to develop the market for digital spares in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors.
The company purchased the MetalFAB1 System from Additive Industries to make the different types of metallic components that it says are fundamental to operations in these sectors. It plans to focus initially the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
‘The worldwide transition from global to regional manufacture, to recoup in country value, has presented a fantastic opportunity to us; to bring our AM business to each country in the Middle East,’ said Mohammed Khalil, director and co-founder of Fusor Tech.
‘Additive Industries has invented the AM equivalent of a pallet changer which has enabled us to easily integrate it into our flexible machine line,’ added Martyn Newby, also director and co-founder.
