Safran acquires metal 3D printer

Additive Industries says that it has supplied a metal 3D printer to aerospace company Safran.

Safran Group is the largest aerospace engine company in Europe and a number one user of AM systems in the European aerospace market, according to Additive Industries.

Safran selected the company’s MetalFAB1 3D printer to make complex parts for its aviation, defence and space business.

“With the integration of a MetalFAB1 AM printer in Safran, we have the ambition to meet the challenge of performance at the right level of quality of raw material and productivity for aluminum,’ said FX Foubert CEO of Safran.
