Additive Industries has launched MetalFAB-600, a new metal 3D printer with build size of 600x600 mm and 1000 mm Z-height.
According to the company, the additive manufacturing (AM) machine is five times larger in volume than its current MetalFAB1 and has a deposition rate up to 1000cc/hour, using 10x1kW lasers. Additive Industries says that the platform could allow further expansion of the build volume in the future.
The MetalFAB-600 is designed to achieve the lowest cost per part, targeting traditional casting and machining industry. ‘A larger build volume opens doors to more applications and more productivity,’ said Jonas Wintermans, co-founder of the company and acting CEO. ‘Larger build jobs also mean a need for higher laser power and maximum robustness, because users want their parts to reach the finish line when printing multiple day jobs.’
