Pioneer Metal Finishing Acquires Superior Metal Finishing

Pioneer Metal Finishing, headquartered in Green Bay, Wis., has acquired Superior Metal Finishing, which is located in Portland, Ore. The acquisition gives Pioneer a second Portland location and broadens its portfolio of customer services to include plating of gold, silver, and palladium precious metals as well as chromate, tin, and zinc.“Over several decades the people of Superior developed an outstanding reputation for excellent processes and customer service,” said Bob Pyle, President and C.E.O. of Pioneer Metal Finishing. “We are very pleased to have them become members of our Pioneer Team. Pioneer Metal Finishing, in business since 1945, is a top provider of cosmetic, wear- and corrosion-resistant coatings and finishes for the aerospace, industrial, medical, military, recreational, electronics and automotive industries. Currently employing nearly 900 people, Pioneer operates production facilities in Green Bay and Oshkosh, Wis.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Monroe, Mich.; Gaffney, S.C.; South Bend, Ind., and Portland, Ore.

Superior Metal Finishing is Pioneer Metal Finishing’s second acquisition in as many years. In 2010 the company purchased Nimet Industries of South Bend, Ind.
