Each year the award is presented to suppliers that meet or exceed the quality expectations of Paccar, a leading manufacturer of commercial trucks, with brands including DAF, Peterbilt and Kenworth.

GKN Sinter Metals has supplied powder metallurgy (PM) components for Paccar’s DAF commercial trucks in Europe for more than 25 years. The product range includes brackets for motor-operated valves, bushings, oil pumps and gears that move the driver’s cab into an inclined position, among other GKN products that improve vehicle safety and efficiency.

GKN Bonn and GKN Radevormwald were both recognized for achieving a defect rate of 50 parts per million (PPM) or less during 2013.

“GKN has not only fulfilled but surpassed Paccar’s demanding quality requirement,” said Jürgen Paal, key account manager. “We are proud to be honored by Paccar for this achievement and will continue to deliver the highest-quality PM components for DAF trucks.”
