GKN Danyang is Schaeffler’s only award-winning powder metal supplier and was recognised for its technical support in 2013 and in the past years. It delivered more than three million variable cam timing (VCT) parts to Schaeffler in 2013.
“We are honoured to have received this prestigious award for the first time,” said Richard Lee, GKN Sinter Metals sales manager, China. “This award is the result of an excellent partnership with our valued customer Schaeffler since 2006 and recognizes Danyang’s technical strength and continued commitment.”
The Danyang facility was established in 2006 and supplies OEMs such as VW and SAIC and Tier 1 suppliers like Schaeffler, GETRAG and Tanhas with a wide range of powder metal components.
GKN Sinter Metals China has gained market share on a year-on-year basis and is now reportedly among the top five suppliers of the Chinese automotive powder metallurgy market.
In April, GKN European and Asia Pacific was also recognized as a premium supplier by Schaeffler.
