Furnace can cope with larger parts

Wall Colmonoy in the UK has upgraded its capabilities with the acquisition of a vacuum braze furnace.

The new furnace, supplied by heat treatment specialist Ipsen, has a maximum temperature of 1315°C, dimensions of 1400mm x 1270mm x 1015mm and a vacuum level of 5x10-6 mbar. It has a larger hot zone, making it possible to braze heat exchangers and other larger components, the company said.

“This upgrade allows us to meet the needs of a growing number of customers who are looking for improved throughput for complex next generation brazed assemblies in materials that require a clean environment to vacuum braze,” said Dr Lewis Berry, business development manager.
