Enthone, Inc., a business of Cookson Electronics, has appointed Robert J. Haskins Senior Vice President & Regional Managing Director, Asia. His appointment marks a welcome return to Cookson Electronics.
Prior to re-joining Cookson, Haskins was the President of Isola, Asia Pacific. His distinguished career marks more than two decades of electronics industry expertise that has included a broad range of executive positions in sales, marketing and general management at Cookson Electronics’ Alpha, Enthone, and Polyclad businesses.
Haskins was with Polyclad Laminates from 1996–2006. In 2002, he was promoted to Vice President and Managing Director, Polyclad Asia, which also included the sales and service of Enthone PWB chemistry. During his tenure, annual sales increased more than 36%. In 2006, with the purchase of Polyclad by Isola Group S.A.R.L, Haskins became President of Isola Asia Pacific.
Haskins' PWB laminate and chemistry expertise is further strengthened by his knowledge of assembly materials. From 1988–1995, he began his electronics industry career with Alpha. While at Alpha, Haskins held various positions in sales and marketing for the company in the United States, England, and France. In 1995, he was appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for Alpha-Fry France S.A. (Paris), where he was responsible for growing the market share and profitability of the company’s soldering materials business.
Haskins, a member of Enthone’s global executive management team, reports directly to Steven Corbett, CEO of Cookson Electronics. “Bob has over 20 years experience in the electronics industry," Corbett said. "He understands both the PWB fabrication and assembly markets. This knowledge will bring significant benefits to Enthone and our customers.”
Haskins earned a master’s of science degree in management and business administration from the University of Texas, and a bachelor of arts degree from Dartmouth College. He is the former President of the American Club in Hong Kong and currently serves on the Board of Governors. Haskins and his wife, Meredith, live in Hong Kong with their two sons, Dallas and Drew.
