Together West and Dr Pease published "Fundamentals of Powder Metallurgy", an introductory book on powder metallurgy, in 2002.
Along with his wife Jane, West co-founded National Sintered Alloys, based in Connecticut, USA in 1964, and served on the board of directors of the Powder Metallurgy Parts Association, and as President from 1994–1996.
Dr Pease was a fellow of the APMI and co-founder of Powder-Tech Associates Inc. He was also a consultant member of the MPIF where he worked closely with the standards committee.
