Arcam’s 2016

Arcam reports that its net sales increased by 12.5% in 2016 to SEK648.3 million, compared to SEK576.1 million in 2015.

50 electron beam melting (EBM) systems were delivered during the period, the same as 2015, while order intake was 48, ten less than in the previous year.

For Q4, sales increased by 18% to SEK208.1 million, up from SEK176.0 million, while operating income was SEK-29.1 million, down from SEK14.0 million in Q4 2015.

‘‘On 6 September GE made a public offer to acquire all shares of Arcam AB. GE's offer was completed on 29 November and GE currently owns 76.15% of all shares of Arcam,’ said CEO Magnus René. ‘For us at Arcam GE's interest in a strong confirmation that the company we have built together for many years is a major player in the additive manufacturing industry. In connection with the offer the fund Elliott acquired over 11% of the shares and thus became the second largest shareholder.
