3D printing company Renishaw will be exhibiting its additive manufacturing (AM) products for medial applications at the RAPID + TCT 3D printing show, taking place from 21–23 May 2019, in Detroit, Michigan, USA.
Marc Saunders, director of AM applications at Renishaw and Alexis Dang MD, chief medical officer at medical device manufacturer PrinterPrezz Inc will give a talk explaining clinical and manufacturing considerations to take into account when printing spinal implants.
Renishaw will also showcase its RenAM 500Q 3D printer which features four 500 W lasers in the most commonly used platform size, and its QuantAM build preparation software, developed for use with the company’s AM systems.
‘Additive manufacturing enables the design and manufacture of more complex medical devices,’ said Saunders. ‘By reducing design constraints, clinicians and medical device manufacturers can dedicate their time to catering for more complex conditions, match devices to an individual's anatomy and, in many cases, promote osseointegration.’
