Arburg says that its injection molding machines now feature a mold filling simulation as part of the control system.
The company worked with simulation testing company Simcon to develop the software for the Gestica system part of its Allrounder machines.
'During development of the Gestica, our objective was to bring more operating assistance into the control system,’ said Dr Eberhard Duffner, R&D director. ‘'The challenge, is the material, the properties of which change during the molding process. Consequently, the question of optimal mold filling has long been a topic of wide-ranging discussion among experts.
