Arburg focuses on energy-efficiency at MSV

The event takes place from 10 to 14 September 2012 in Brno, Czech Republic. On show will be the company’s electric Edrive series, automation products and the Arburg host computer system.

An electric Allrounder 520 E, with a clamping force of 1,500 kN and size 400 injection unit will represent the Edrive series at the show. The exhibit operates with an 8-cavity mould from Hasco and produces pump heads for dosing dispensers. The moulded part weight is 0.99 grams and the cycle time is eight seconds.

The Edrive series covers a clamping force range from 600 to 2,000 kN andrhe Allrounder E machines are an electric alternative to basic hydraulic machines. The servo-electric drives and the toggle-type clamping unit ensure energy-efficient operation of all electric Arburg machines. Servo motor energy recovery during braking also has a beneficial effect on the machines’ overall energy consumption. Together, these factors combine to reduce energy consumption by up to 50% compared to standard hydraulic machines.

Arburg will also be showing a hydraulic Allrounder Golden Edition machine equipped with a mobile robotic system in order to remove the moulded parts for further processing. The machine has a six-axis robotic system, conveyer belt and guard cage, which is mounted on rollers as a unit and can be used on various machines.

The Arburg host computer system (ALS) can call up parameters and production data from the injection moulding processes in real time. Those using mobile ALS access have an online link to the information flow and can exploit available capacities.
