During the farewell celebration, Partner Eugen Hehl presents Herbert Kraibühler with the Arburg logo in gold.

Kraibühler began his apprenticeship as a machine fitter in Lossburg in 1964 before studying precision engineering in Karlsruhe, specialising in plastics technology, making us of a scholarship from Arburg. In 1972, he joined the company’s development department and filled various posts until he assumed the position of managing director, technology & engineering in 1996. Over the course of the five decades, he furthered the development of injection moulding technology, including  the launch of the Selogica machine control system, the Allrounder injection moulding machines with fully electric drives and the Freeformer additive manufacturing product range.

Herbert Kraibühler emphasised the significance of networking for the successes over the past 50 years and for the future: “Common ground is vital for our progress. That’s why we work closely with scientists, partners and our customers, the technical requirements of which have constantly helped us to grow,” he said. “The wisdom to stop when you’re on top also applies precisely to me.”

He will be replaced by Heinz Gaub. “I got to know Herbert Kraibühler as an enthusiastic and inspiring man of technology, who is held in extremely high esteem throughout the company,” said Gaub. “I would especially like to thank him for leaving me such a highly motivated and committed team, with which I can embark on new avenues and conquer new fields.”
