Höganäs launches new alloy for surface coating applications

Höganäs has developed Rockit 701, a new alloy for use in the oil and gas, agriculture and mining industries.

The recently launched alloy is designed to perform well in aggressive environments where both impact and abrasive wear occur.

Rockit 701 has improved deposition performance as a high hardness material. It offers good bonding to substrate and is not sensitive to crack formation.

According to the company, the alloy can outperforms metal matrix carbides such as NiCrBSi/WC where impact load is severe and maintain excellent wear performance.

Typical applications are ground engaging tools for bucket blades, teeth, wear plates, stabilisers, bent housings, drill bits, chutes and others.
