EOS and Additive Works have developed Amphyon, a software application for simulation-based additive manufacturing (AM). The companies say that the Amphyon software application makes it possible for the AM build process to be simulated in advance, making it possible to identify and solve conceivable problem areas of the component to be manufactured at an earlier stage. The method could help save time and improve the dimensional stability and surface quality of the component as well as the overall productivity and stability of the AM process.
