Women in Manufacturing SUMMIT 2013 Heads to Detroit in October

Nearly 300 leading women manufacturing executives, managers and supervisors from across the country will gather in Detroit, Mich., October 22-23, 2013, for the third annual Women in Manufacturing Summit, hosted by the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA).

SUMMIT 2013 will provide a unique opportunity for women in manufacturing careers to share perspectives and network with colleagues and other female executives in the sector. The conference will feature industry plant tours, a networking dinner, roundtable and panel discussions, educational sessions and keynote presentations on pertinent business topics.

“SUMMIT 2013 will build off the huge successes of the 2011 and 2012 events,” said Allison Grealis, Women in Manufacturing program director. “The hundreds of women who have attended the past two summits walked away newly motivated from sharing their experiences and building stronger networks. We’re hoping to create local momentum leading up to this year’s program by kicking off the year with our first ever Launch Party next month.”

The Launch Party will be on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 5:30 p.m. at The Henry Autograph Collection Hotel in Dearborn, Mich. (also the location of SUMMIT 2013). Sponsored by Women in Manufacturing with its partnering organizations—Association of Women in the Metal Industries, Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation, Original Equipment Suppliers Association and Society of Manufacturing Engineers—the Launch Party is an opportunity for women in the industry to enjoy cocktails and appetizers while networking with peers. Attendees also will learn more about SUMMIT 2013 and start conversations that will continue at the conference in October. Register for the Launch Party at www.womeninmanufacturing.org.
