White paper on AM finishing

PostProcess Technologies, which specializes in the finishing of 3D printed metal parts, has published a new white paper.

The paper, entitled How Volumetric Velocity Dispersion Technology Transforms FDM Post-Printing with Automation, suggests that additive manufacturing (AM) throughput could be limited with traditional submersion support removal systems and as AM scales to production levels, post-print cycle time and manual labor are a growing concern.

The company’s Volumetric Velocity Dispersion (VVD) automation technology uses different forms of mechanical energy which could increase fused deposition modeling (FDM) support removal efficiency, reduce drying time, and mitigate the risk of damaged parts.
