Umicore appoints new CTO

Umicore has appointed An Steegen as its new chief technology officer (CTO) and as a member of its executive committee, succeeding Denis Goffaux who was appointed executive vice president, energy and surface technologies earlier this year. She will join Umicore as of 1st October.

Steegen currently serves as executive vice president semiconductor technology and system R&D at Imec, a research center with a focus on nanoelectronics and digital technology innovation.

‘An is a brilliant materials scientist and has an impressive track record of leading large research organizations,’ said Umicore CEO Marc Grynberg. ‘Her competences and experience will nicely complement the unique expertise of Umicore's scientific community in clean mobility materials and recycling and add diversity to the executive committee.’
