SKF receives order for Chinese wind power

The bearings will be used in Chongqing’s 1.5MW and 2.0MW wind turbine gearboxes.

“This order is a significant step in building our wind power gearbox market share in China, a country that represents around 40% of the global wind energy market,” said Sunny Chan, SKF’s head of renewable energy in China. “It also expands SKF’s global network of renewable energy customers, bringing the benefits of our technologies and solutions to more end-users and operators.”

Chongqing Gearbox Co Ltd is a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and specializes in manufacturing gearboxes, couplings and dampers.
