Sign up for UK materials research exhibition

A panel of industrialists and academics have been invited by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to review the research on show with the aim of making recommendations to both EPSRC and the UK Technology Strategy Board (TSB) for future opportunities in advanced materials.

The 2014 Materials Research Exchange is part of the Materials Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) and will also feature a number of talks from industrialists and academics. It takes place in Coventry, UK, on 25 February. Exhibitors include the Universities of Oxford, Manchester, Brunel, Leeds and Nottingham, as well as Ceram, TWI and the BP International Centre for Advanced Materials. Graduate research students will also be displaying their work as part of a poster competition, which will be judged by the select panel.

The event aims to foster closer ties between industry and the UK’s research base, encouraging further funding from both public and private sources. As well as opening up funding opportunities to advance research, it is hoped that the commercialisation of particular projects will be spurred by private equity support.

There is still time for UK university or research organisations to register interest if they want to exhibit via the registration site.
