Automotive standards organization SEA International is working with cold spray additive manufacturing (AM) specialist Titomic to develop specifications for the technology.

This could help organizations in defence and aerospace more easily adopt the technology in their processes, the company said.

The new standards will also reportedly provide a framework for cold spray components to be included in various applications such as aerospace.

Titomic will also participate in a metal 3D printing repair subcommittee with the SAE.

“We are honoured to be a part of this program and consider our participation in the development of these specifications a great opportunity to assist the cold spray industry and create a platform for growth and support,” said Dominic Parsonson, Titomic.
