Revenue increase for Linde

Gas company Linde has reported a revenue increase for the first nine months of 2017.

Group revenue from continuing operations (excluding Gist) were €12.864 billion, 2.7% more than the revenue for the prior-year period of €12.530 billion. Group operating profit from continuing operations rose by 3.8% to €3.151 billion, compared to €3.035 billion in 2016.

Revenue in the Gases Division in the first nine months of 2017 was €11.244 billion, an increase of 2.1% when compared with the figure for the prior-year period of €11.016 billion. After adjusting for exchange rate effects, revenue rose by 1.8%. Operating profit was €3.207 billion, which was 3.5% higher than the figure in the first nine months of 2016 of €3.098 billion.

Revenue in the Engineering Division increased by 4.0% to €1.809 billion (2016: €1.739 billion). Operating profit also rose, from €146 milllion in the first nine months of 2016 to €152 million in the first nine months of 2017, an increase of 4.1%.

‘There were positive trends in revenue and earnings in the first nine months of 2017 and we are also right on track with our efficiency programme,’ said Professor Dr Aldo Belloni, CEO of Linde AG.
