Prototek Sheet Metal Fabrication, which specializes in rapid prototyping, recently added powder coating and painting to its 40,000-square-foot facility in Contoocook, N.H. According to the fabricator and, now, finisher, this will help maintain quality controls and better facilitate delivery of its customers’ products. The addition—which comes on the heels of the installation of a RoHS-compliant plating line—significantly expands Prototek Sheet Metal Fabrication’s production capacity and capabilities.

Prototek Sheet Metal Fabrication specializes in rapid prototypes, short runs and quick turn-around products, applying state- of-the-art and comprehensive processes to meet the competitive demands of the industry. Prototek Sheet Metal Fabrication also employs the latest software packages, including Pro E - Solidworks - AutoCAD – CadKey, to meet demand for rapid prototyping services. Prototek Sheet Metal fabricates custom precision sheet metal using the following materials: steel, stainless steel, aluminum, spring steel, titanium, inconel,copper, brass, tubing, channel, G-10, LEX-AN, and phenolic, etc. Prototek offers paint and powder coat finishes, a full complement of plating (copper, tin, silver, gold, and nickel), electroless nickel, clear and colored anodizing, and zinc and chromate. Additional offerings include the ability to fabricate from paper prints or electronic files, along with the flexibility to work with a full range of raw materials.

In addition to state-of-the-art bending and welding departments, Prototek Sheetmetal Fabrication offers laser cutting and operates a traditional turret department. The fabricator/finisher also has the ability to meet clients’ milling and lathing needs via its newly enlarged machining department.
