Phillips-Medisize expands MIM plant

The expansion has come about as a result of new business awards in the company’s medical device and commercial segments.

The  MIM business provides customers with complex, precision-shaped parts (150 g or less in weight). The addition will increase the facility’s continuous debind and sintering furnace capability.

“We have seen increased interest from our medical device customers to help them design for MIM in surgical device applications as they look for ways to reduce costs and improve quality versus machined parts,” said Matt Jennings, Phillips-Medisize president and CEO.
