Partnership focuses on binder jetting tech

3D printing company ExOne and Sandvik Additive Manufacturing have formed a partnership to improve binder jetting additive manufacturing (AM).

The companies will look into adapting Sandvik’s Osprey metal powders to work with ExOne’s binder jetting machines. The collaboration will include studying powder and binder interactions, developing 3D machine process settings, and creating post-processing heat treatments for various materials, initially including stainless steels, tool steels, and nickel alloys.

Sandvik possesses a range of ExOne binder jetting machines and is a beta customer for ExOne’s new X1 25PRO production machine.
