Order for CMC production

CVD Equipment Corporation, which specializes in chemical vapor deposition (CVD), has received a US3.7 mn order to supply a chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) system to make ceramic composite materials (CMCs) for aerospace gas turbine engines.

According to the company, using CMCs helps improve fuel efficiency and strength and lower weight, when compared to conventional nickel-based superalloys.

“We believe CVD’s focus on growth markets including, aerospace, silicon carbide high power electronics, and electric vehicle battery materials provides the path to sustained profitability and growth,” said Emmanuel Lakios, president of the company.
