Tucker, who currently serves as editor of Metal Finishing magazine – another Elsevier publication –brings more than 17 years experience in publishing, with a special emphasis on business-to-business magazines and technology-based titles. He is a seasoned journalist and editor specialising in manufacturing, process technology, automotive production, key end-use markets and retail/distribution channel dynamics, and is well versed in both digital and print publishing platforms. During his time at Metal Finishing magazine, Tucker oversaw dramatic redesigns of both the magazine and metalfinishing.com, and he was also responsible for managing special high-profile projects, including Metal Finishing’s first virtual conference.  In this new capacity, Tucker will continue to serve as editor in chief of Metal Finishing magazine in addition to his newfound responsibilities with Metal Powder Report. “Reg has more years in the metal finishing industry than he’d care to admit, and even though the two industries (metal powder/metal finishing) are different beasts, I can’t think of anyone more qualified to guide MPR going forward,” said David Hopwood, publisher of Metal Powder Report and B2B team leader. “He also worked on this title at various times during the past few years, covering the MPIF conventions in 2009 and 2010 on Richard Felton’s behalf, so he’ll have a head start.”Tucker welcomes the challenge and the opportunity. “Having had some exposure to the powder metallurgy side of the business in recent years, I am looking forward to immersing myself fully into the PM industry and learning more about the various players and critical issues impacting the market,” he said. “We have a lot of exciting plans for the magazine and website moving forward, and I am confident that as a team we will work together to successfully execute those initiatives.”Consulting editors Ken Brookes and Joe Capus will continue to provide assistance in developing quality content for the magazine as well as MPR’s electronic platforms. In addition, Elsevier plans to commit additional resources to assure a smooth transition.
