Merit award from standards agency

Hudson has been a member of ASTM International since 1993 and is the current chairman of committee B09 who presented the award. The Award of Merit is ASTM's highest organisational recognition for individual contributions to standards activities. 

Hudson also leads subcommittee B09.04 on bearings, is vice chairman of the B09 subcommittees on awards and planning, and works on the US technical advisory group for ISO/TC 119 on powder metallurgy (B09.09). Hudson also serves on committees A06 on magnetic properties, E54 on homeland security applications and F32 on search and rescue. 

His career has focused on powder metallurgy, processing, failure analysis and laboratory management. His most recent professional position was that of manager of research and development at Atlas Pressed Metals, based in Dubois, Philadelphia. Prior to that, he spent 26 years at GKN Sinter Metals Inc.
