Lockheed invests in AM

Lockheed Martin Corporation has invested in Sintavia, which makes 3D printed aerospace components.

This follows a strategic partnership formed in 2022 to develop additive manufacturing (AM) technology areas in connection with the US government’s AM Forward supply chain initiative, the company said. Sintavia has also supplied components to Lockheed since 2019.

The investment will be used to fund additional development and testing, according to Sintavia.

“Lockheed Martin’s strategic investment expands our existing joint development agreement with Sintavia announced last December,” said David Tatro, vice president at Lockheed Martin. “We look forward to strengthening our collaboration on the design and supply of additively manufactured parts across the defense industrial base.”
