Höganäs monitors environmental impact

Powder producer Höganäs says that it has been using satellites to monitor the environmental impact of its plants in Sweden.

“If the project is successful, the next step could be to spread the initiative to Höganäs’ other sites around the world and monitor suppliers,” the company said.

The pilot project was led by Anders Bergman, environmental manager at the company, and environmental engineer Frida Lindbladh.

“Today we measure our emissions, but it is also interesting to know if we impact our surroundings, so that we can adapt our environmental protection measures," said Bergman.

Höganäs uses satellite images to see how vegetation is growing, whether dust is spreading, and assess the water quality in the sea outside the plant.
