GKN has won a Silver Performance Award from automotive supplier Johnson Controls (JCI).
The award was for sinter metal parts for car seats. GKN has made more than a billion of these parts in Bonn, Germany.
The award goes to suppliers who excel in quality, logistics, technology and service. The performance is recognized on four levels – platinum, gold, silver and bronze.
GKN Sinter Metals has also worked with seat specialist Keiper, which became a subsidiary of JCI in 2011. Since 2000, GKN Sinter Metals has supplied Keiper with metal components, called wedges, that enable seats to recline.
‘We are delighted to receive this award from our valued customer Johnson Controls,’ said Matthias Voss, plant manager of the Bonn plant.
