The Supplier Quality Excellence Award is presented to top manufacturers that meet GM’s strict quality criteria. Manufacturers are evaluated on more than 12 criteria including timely delivery of high-quality products, smooth production processes and innovative strength.

“Being recognized once again by General Motors is an exciting acknowledgement for GKN,” said Chris Franks, president of GKN Sinter Metals Americas Operations. “The fact that we received several consecutive awards from GM proves that our employees strive to not only meet but exceed our customers’ requirements.”

GKN Sinter Metals supplies GM with a range of powder metal products for engines, transmissions, and other vehicle components from these locations. Altogether the plants produced about 18 million components for GM, including main bearing caps, aluminium camshaft caps, clutch plates and bushings.
