GKN hosts AM talks

GKN Sinter Metals hosted a round of talks between manufacturing companies in Bonn, Germany last month, covering additive manufacturing (AM) and Industry 4.0.

Managing directors from 12 business in the industrial sector of the region came together to discuss ideas and experiences and visit GKN’s production facilities.

The company plans to develop a network of manufacturing companies working together in dialogue with GKN’s business development segment to identify and develop common fields.

‘As manufacturing companies, firstly we can learn a great deal from one other, and secondly, the network allows us to promote current issues, such as the digitization of the city of Bonn, in a much stronger way,’ said Guido Degen, senior vice president, business development & advanced technology, GKN Powder Metallurgy.
