General Carbide buys UK sales partner

With the full backing of General Carbide, this new company is positioned better than ever to serve the industrial tooling and wear parts needs of customers in the UK and Europe,” says Mona Pappafava-Ray, president of General Carbide.

"We are continuously looking for trends in our current industries and opportunities to participate in new and emerging products," she told Metal Powder Report. "Therefore, we have recently developed several new grades, processes and tooling that are uniquely suited to satisfy the needs of the trends among our target industries, including oil & gas, ammunition and stamping."

General Carbide established General Carbide Europe in 1989 as an independent sales agency to promote the company’s products in the UK. General Carbide UK has evolved into a fabrication and grinding shop serving the oil and gas production sector by manufacturing carbide and steel wear-resistant valve assembly components for North Sea drilling operations. It also supplies manufacturers with a variety of metal forming punches, dies, fastener tooling and wear parts.
