BASF opens AM center in Shanghai

BASF’s 3D printing business, Forward AM has opened a new additive manufacturing technical center) in Shanghai, China with Xuberance, a Chinese 3D printing design and service company.

Plans are for the new facility to serve the additive manufacturing (AM) market in China and the rest of Asia.

Forward AM has reportedly installed more than 20 3D printers covering selective laser sintering, photopolymer 3S printing and fused filament fabrication at the center, located in Shanghai Lingang Songjiang Science Park.

BASF Venture Capital has also invested in Xuberance, the companies report.

‘The establishment of the new AMTC in Shanghai marks an important step for us, as we are now able to offer customers in Asia-Pacific a perfectly integrated service,’ said François Minec, MD of BASF 3D Printing Solutions.
