ASTM extends deadline for AM center proposals

After receiving inquiries from industry and academia, ASTM International plans to extend its deadlines by one week for letters-of-intent and full proposals for a new center of excellence in additive manufacturing. Many interested parties throughout the world have asked for more time to respond to the organization.   ‘We are receiving a strong and enthusiastic response to our request for proposals,’ said Mohsen Seifi, the organization’s director of additive manufacturing programs. ‘This extension reflects our commitment to listening to and responding to needs from potential proposers as we move through this important process.’   ASTM International is calling for industry-university proposals aimed at creating a global innovation hub that advances additive manufacturing technical standards, related R&D, education and training, and more.    The deadline for submitting a letter of intent has been moved to 4 December, at 12 pm EST. The deadline for full proposals has also been extended by one week to 22 December at 5 pm EST.
