The partnership came about because APEC had been using a water-based spray paint system and began searching for a more efficient and effective way to achieve a high-quality finish while still maintaining its goal of minimizing its impact on the environment. The new division allows APEC to offer products with a much more durable and attractive finish while providing expanded powder coating services to customers throughout the area.
West Michigan Powder Coating, as a vendor to APEC and other companies in the area, had proven its commitment to high-quality work and customer service. This resulted in growth that exceeded its existing facility. A partnership was formed based on West Michigan Powder Coating’s need for more space as well as the desire of both companies to expand and upgrade the capabilities of the powder coating operation. The new facilities are equipped with a 40 x 15 x 10-ft-high inside oven and a smaller oven 10 x 8 X 9 ft-high inside oven dimension. Spray booths are set up to accommodate both ovens depending on the part requirement. Along with the painting services, West Michigan Powder Coating also offers sandblasting and hot water pressure cleaning for high-quality surface preparation.
