AM included in White House critical and emerging technologies list

The US White House has reportedly included additive manufacturing (AM) in its updated list of critical and emerging technologies designated important to US national security.

The list indicates the areas the US is focusing on to bolster its national security, according to the MPIF.

To create the list, a subcommittee was formed of 18 subject matter experts from government departments, agencies, and offices who identified these critical and emerging technologies.

Additive manufacturing was named under the umbrella of advanced manufacturing, along with sustainable manufacturing, smart manufacturing, and nanomanufacturing.
