Spartacus3D, a startup focusing on additive manufacturing (AM), and casting specialist CTIF have formed a collaborative agreement with the aim to become a leader in metal additive manufacturing.
Like casting, additive manufacturing is not so different to casting since it generates both the material and the shape simultaneously. Therefore, the major challenge is to ensure the materials are compliant with customer specifications, the companies say.
Spartacus3D and CTIF's collaboration agreement will lead to the launch of several projects that will be unveiled in the coming months. In particular, the agreement will make use of Spartacus3D’s AM resources and CTIF’s metallurgy, product design and training expertise.
‘In joining their skills, Spartacus3D and CTIF emphasize the importance of metallurgy in securing the deployment of this technology in cutting-edge industries such as aerospace, defense, medical, automotive and energy,’ said Charles de Forges, CEO of Spartacus3D.
