3D Systems announces sale of CAD businesses

3D Systems report that it will sell Cimatron Ltd, a company which supplies CAD/CAM software and CNC programming software.

The businesses will be sold for a purchase price of US$65 million to Battery Ventures, a global, technology-focused investment firm which also owns SigmaTEK Systems.

3D Systems says that the sale is part of its plan to focus on additive manufacturing (AM) for applications in growing markets.
