Jewelry materials specialist Cooksongold, part of the Heimerle + Meule Group has developed new powders and parameters for 3D printing.

The company has developed the materials for EOS’ M 100 additive manufacturing (AM) machine as part of its partnership with the AM specialist.

Cooksongold’s range of gas atomised precious metal powders have been developed with powder composition, flow characteristics and particle size distributions ideal for use in the EOS M 100 system for platinum, gold and silver alloys.

The company says that the new precious metal parameters enable users to produce improved designs, while the system’s 200 watt fiber laser guarantees constant processing conditions for the production of complex 3D components with a high detail resolution.

‘We are proud to continue our successful partnership with Cooksongold, which was already established 2012,’ said Markus Brotsack, partner manager at EOS. ‘Based on our technology, EOS together with Cooksongold plans to develop processes for industrial precious metals applications too.’
