Höganäs at WorldPM

Höganäs is to present a range of materials and applications at the premier PM event, taking place in Hamburg, Germany, from 9-13 October.

Höganäs is exhibiting what it says is the world’s first successfully re-engineered, prototyped and road tested PM geared automotive transmission. The PM gearbox reportedly eliminates the majority of current machining processes, also also brings technical advantages, such as reduced gear weights and inertia, integrated additional design features, improved gear root shapes and reduced structural borne vibrations, thereby reducing gear noise.

The company will also be showcasing its new customised powder mixes which make it possible for engineers to improve performance and increase the sustainability of production, while making parts with more complex geometries. Höganäs is also presenting 15 papers and is contributing to a number of others.
