HIP boost in Mexico

HT-MX, a Mexican specialist in heat treatment and metallurgical lab services for the aerospace and automotive markets has acquired a new hot isostatic press from Quintus Technologies.

According to the company, up till now no Mexico businesses were able to offer HIP services.

HT-MX has installed a QIH 48 M URC model, which combines HIP and heat treatment in a single process.

‘We’re still early in our HIP career, but we look forward to continue supplying our customers with high quality HIP processes via Quintus equipment for years to come,’ said Humberto Ramos Fernandez, CEO at HT-MX.

The QIH 48 M URC has a hot zone measuring 14.8 inches (375 mm) in diameter and 47.2 inches (1200 mm) in height. The press operates at a temperature of 2550°F (1400°C) and a pressure of up to 2070 bar (30,000 psi).
