Graphene specialist Haydale has reportedly developed a new range of functionalised nanomaterials pre-dispersed in process oils for elastomers.
According the company, the nanomaterials can help improve the mechanical properties, physical properties and thermal and electrical conductivity of elastomer material.
Target market sectors are industrial rubber goods, transport, aerospace, infrastructure, marine and medical.
The company plans to launch the nanomaterials at International Rubber Conference (IRC) 2019, taking place from 3–5 September at the Kia Oval in London, UK.
During the event, Thomas Greaves, Haydale senior project engineer, will present on ‘the benefits of plasma functionalisation on improving the properties of recovered carbon black (rCB), graphene and other carbon-based nanomaterials in rubber compounds.’
